Linux Packet Forwarding Performance

I'd like to get an idea of IPv4/v6 forwarding rates over Ethernet to expect in standard Linux, no additional services just static routing. Please indicate pps, Linux version and processor used. I'm assuming off the shelf PC hardware.

Thanks.
