linux on a linksys router ??

I have a Linksys befsr41 v4 broadband router,.. I would like to know if it is possible to replace the firmware with Linux on this particular router ??
I know some of the WiFi Linksys routers have this capability.(as the firmware is based on linux)

**This is basically just a science experiment as the router was given to me and otherwise would have been thrown out,.. so i'm not worried about ruining it.

thanks for the help

if anything it'll be openwrt, it's not listed in the standard devices page on the site though.
