Question Linux Client Configuration.

This is very first time i'm asking to any forum ever!

I study in an institution where we have Linux Server called "sharada"(a local domain).
we have "linux clients" thro which people logs in to the server.

Linux clients are of two types "thin client" and "thick client".

Can anyone tell me How these "clients" are being configured to "communicate" to "Local" Linux Server.

Um... not quickly.

Thick clients are often full computers in their own right and can function independently of the network. They may have their home directory, for eg, on the hard drive that is bolted into the chassis. Laptops are often connected this way as you have to be able to take them away.

Thin clients have important resources on the network. Often they don't even have a hard-drive - they boot from a drive in a different room (or building) over the network.

From that' you should be able to work out several ways of configuring a computer as a thin or thick (fat) client.
