Linux based network

Hi there to all.

In the company I work, we have about 60 users (WinY2k & XP). We currently use Samba 2.2.7a as PDC and IPCop for aDSL "router". We are about to change our building site, and the new one is currently under construction.

So my boss told me to make a suggestion of our new network system: from the cables to server o/s. Of course I want to use Linux.

What I want is someone that knows a web site with suggestions of making a new network or some applications that may be useful - like VPN or mail server.

if you really want to setup a decent network, i'd go with CISCO routers/switches and non-windows based servers (any BSD, Solaris, Unix...etc).

if you want a very nice network, go with networking equipment and saved the Linux stuff for the servers (DHCP, DNS, WEB, Samba) and such. Using a PC as a router is cool, but not ideal.

That's just my opinion. Someone could argue that if it works with a computer, why spend the extra cash on network equipment i guess.
