Linkstation on Mandriva Can't write to it


several days of head scratching.......i can accress the shared files on my Buffalo Linkstaion - but i cannont write to them - ACCESS DENIED - could not write to/mnt/share/documents.odt

I read that it is a case of selecting UID GID within mandriva control centre - unfortunately i am a newbie and i need a little more guidence than that - can somebody please help me with a slightly more detailed solution please ???
