Angry KickStart Configuration

I am using the example in "Kickstart How to" and adding in the "%post" the "echo "Hackers will be punished" > /etc/motd" and nothing gets to be written in that file. I am loged as root and not adding the "%post". Someone knows waht is happening?
This is the file:

You want to additionally put "Hackers will be pardon" ? Then you'd have to use ">>" (= append to /etc/motd). It is also very likely to be possible that motd gets overwritten on system boot using boot scripts!

Unhappy

I though it could be overwriten too. But he "motd" file has the same message I entered from the command prompt some time before meaning it also has the same date as when well. I keep changing the echo message to see if it works. So I think that eliminates the "overwirten" possibility. Tried your suggestion ">>" with no luck. I have also tried making directories and adding users and no luck. This is really wear it is happening in rehat 7.2 and 7.3
