Kernel Upgrade Causes DHCP Quirks
I just upgraded my kernel form 2.4.20-8 to 2.4.22 which caused my network devices to become inoperable. The original kernel was an RH9 installation built kernel, the latest kernel I built myself.
Both Interfaces give errors "Determining IP for eth0 failed."
However, the peculiarity occurs when running ifconfig which shows both interfaces as available. Tried running ifconfig eth0 up manually as well as /etc/rc.d/init.d/network restart. The DHCP server is just the simple one on a D-link broadband router.
Oh, and I have a laptop I just upgraded similarly which is working fine with 2.4.22.
The modules for each NIC are ne2k-pci and tulip.
Any ideas anyone?
