it's safe 2 write to nfs disk from smbmount?

I have a linux box , and some boxes win98 and win2k.

with smbmount I mount every share, to the linux box.

my question is : it is safe to read-write to that shares from the linux box?

( i did accidentally a move of one directory to another, in a share-ntfs[win2k box], I don't know if I did any harm, it still works good [the win2k box]

thanx

Yes, it should be safe. Well, at least the 'unsafeness' of linux kernel writing to ntfs does not apply here.
