IPCop ADSL drop outs

i've installed ipcop and setup my usb adsl through eciadsl drivers as there was no other way to locate it and use PPPoA. i've also setup dns so i can connect remotely. the internet connects and runs perfectly only i keep getting drop outs. i've tested the modem/internet directly through my xp pro pc and it runs perfect for days without drop outs (within realistic boundaries of course any ideas why it drops out when running through ipcop? once it lasted about 30min, another time around 10min, most times anywhere from 1-5min.

i disabled a dns service i noticed windows was running and it seemed to work. the adsl ran for about 15min but then it started dropping in and out every 10sec again. could this be due to any dns/dyndns update programs or services running or maybe in the setting on ipcop for the connection? should it be manual reconnect, persistant, dial on demand etc???

help me please hehe
