ip masq+samba=??


Im masquerading internet into an xp pro(randi). Samba shared are visable with command line on the server but client (randi) doesnot detect the linux server (linux$) not dedect the server!!?? i mean its recieving a steady masqueraded internet feed why wont it detect linux$ in xp lmhosts and hosts are configured and smb.conf appears is functional in the sence I can log on and view shares w/server. testparm runs w/out complaint. could my ip masq config have changed my routing or iptables to prevent M$ from detecting linux$?
please help

oops. hostname = linux
domain = linux$

got it. i was missing this!
#Create the script logon.bat on a pc running windows
#cause it must be
#windows formatted not unix formatted.


#Ex. logon.bat:

echo "Configuring time and date.."
NET TIME \\NETBIOSNAMESAMBASERVER\ /SET /YES

echo "setting up Network drives.."
NET USE Z: \\NETBIOSNAMESAMBASERVER\PUBLIC
