Ip conflit - Shutdown interface

I need away to script or change a config file that will shutdown any interface went it encounters an ip address conflit. If anyone has any ideas on how to start or even how to do the hole things please let me know.

Not really an answer to your question, but why would there be IP address conflicts on a regular enough occasion for you to need to script it?

Using DHCP will avoid IP conflicts and save on a lot of configuration.
