Im running a Mandrake 9.1 server and it is on a network with two other computers. I would like to take the 9.1 server and make it a wargames machine. My problem is, I cant find the ip address behind the router.
Any ip i find points to the router.
Thanks
Are you trying to access the machine from outside your network? If so, you'll be having problems because your router assigns your machine an internal ip (recognized only on internal subnets). I'm assuming wargames is a gaming server, or something like that.
Just forward whatever port wargames tries to connect on from your router to the machine in question and everything should be fine.
well by default with linksys routers the ip is 192.168.1.1 and when you type http://192.168.1.1 in a browser a screen should pop up asking for username/password input, which by default is admin/admin and then you can go into port forwarding in there.
