Internet Not Working on Cent OS 5.5

I have configured LAMP server on Cent OS 5.5 and it is connected with router.all other client machines are connected with router and they are able to access internet but in server its not working.

while i have made changes in /etc/resolv.conf and inserted ip of dns after that i am able to access internet but after restarting network service or server the entries which i have made in resolv.conf are flushed.

can any one help me out to make the entries of resolv.conf permanent.

I would guess dhclient will be overwriting resolv.conf with the settings it is obtaining from your DHCP server.

Two options:
1) Have the DHCP server (on the router) push the correct name server settings.
2) Modfiy dhclient.conf on the problematic server and set the "option domain-name-servers" directive to force dhclient to use the nameserver you want it to.

chattr +i /etc/resolv.conf

If you need to edit it again, revert with 'chattr -i'

Check current status with lsattr.
