Internet issues when logged in using SSH
Hello
I'm trying to get my Fedora 8 PC upgrading while I'm in work. The PC's at home, I'm logged in over SSH, but when I try and connect to the internet it fails (e.g. a ping to google times out). The default route looks good (its pointing at my router) and pings to the router work.
The way I'm connected to the PC is a bit longwinded (works firewalls have blocked some ports but left others open), but I open a telnet connection (on port 23) to a Cisco ADSL router, then from the cli of that open an SSH connection (on port 5000) to my home PC
ME---INTERNET---ADSL_ROUTER---INTERNET---HOME_ROUTER---PC
The only thing I can think of is that for some reason any traffic generated once the SSH connection is made gets sent to the ADSL router in the middle.
Does any one have any suggestions? All help appreciated!
