Internet connection sharing using Mandrake 9.2

I'm trying to allow my machine running Mandrake 9.2 to share it's internet connection to other machines on the network.

It has been working in the past when we were running 9.1. I have tried using the tool in the control center. It did make allow the connection to be shared but it activated shorewall which drop my samba connections and wouldn't allow access to our database server.

Can anyone tell me how to configure shorewall to allow this or how to get around it. I have been advised not to use shorewall and write my own script. I have no idea how to do this, can anyone help?

Cheers

Adam.
