I hope my little stint with drawing helped u in understanding the topology. Well the problem seems to very trivial but I am very new to this.
Well i can access internet using from my linux machine by using either of eth0 and eth1. But as the situation demands, i need to have communication between eth0 and eth1. I am not able to ping eth1 using eth0 interface and vice versa.
Please let me know if i can continue with this configuration??
I have added appropriate routes like
default router gateway eth0
default router gateway eth1
Moreover, to me router doesnt seems to bea problem.
Thanks

Reason: use code blocks!
can you explain more what it is you actually need? i don't understand what yoru problem actually is... are you trying to get more resilience from multiple routes?
From my opinin u want both lan accessible for the others.
So your router also an ICS gateway right ?
Like this
eth0 = ext network / internet
eth1 = 192.168.10.0/24
eth2 = 192.168.10.0/24
then all u need is 3 NICs,and set the iptables.
when u want the ping works well,all u need ACCEPT icmp packet.
Putting the same Ethernet Address on two Ethernet Cards will allow traffic through the Linux Box, but not allow them to communicate with each other. To communicate with one Ethernet Card to another Ethernet Card, they each need separate Ethernet Addresses. Eth0 [a,b,c,x] --> Eth1 [a,b,c,y] --> Eth2 [a,b,c,z]. Hope this helps us.
Make sure your "Single linux machine" is connected with xcable with linux router.
I am not sure what you want do with this kind of setup but you can try this .you have to enable Ipv4 forwarding in both the machines so here your single linux machine will be a router too..
Linux router :
eth0: 192.168.10.1
eth1: 192.168.20.1
use your default gateway accordingly.
and Single linux machine :
eth0: 192.168.10.2
eth1: 192.168.20.2
and default gateway for this machine ( ??????)
UhhMaybe, seriously, stop dragging up old threads. please.
soroccoheaven, did you realise that this thread is almost a year old? maybe a little frustrated that the original guy with the problem i long gone? i would be...
