Sounds like their HTTP server was blacklisting your IP for some reason. If it was obtained via DHCP, perhaps the previous lessee was abusing it?

But why only packages and bugs, why not www or forums. And why not return an error page, instead of just timing out, on http traffic anyway.

Anyway, it's working for me, so let's see what happens next
