I need to share the internet from my XP box to my Ubuntu box. Here is my configuration.
I have my XP box connected to the linux one with a crossover cable. The XP box is currently running on a wireless usb linksys.
I have the wireless card set to share it's internet through the LAN. I get an ip in Ubuntu and can ping any ip in the network but I can't get internet. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If you can ping the Windows box and the Windows box is online with the goofy "Allow users to access the internet on this connection" (in other words ICS) button checked, then you should be close. I suspect DNS settings. Type the following at a command prompt
cat /etc/resolv.conf
This will tell you what DNS servers your Ubuntu box is set up to use. Additionally, did you set the gateway of the Ubuntu box to the ip of the Windows box? If not type the following at a prompt.
route add default gw <Winxpip>
Replace <Winxpip> above with the ip address of the Windows box.
