How to SSH to my box from another network

I've been wondering how I would SSH to a box on my lan from a computer on another network. I have set up ssh on my slackware box on my home network, where I connect multiple PC's to a router. When I'm at school I want to be able to ssh to my slack box, but I dont know how I would go about doing this. Obviously 192.168.1.104 is not a valid IP address from across the internet... I do know the address my router uses to get out, but how would I get past my router to my local box. Any help would be great.

Your router should have an option for "port forwarding". Forward port 22 to your Linux box, then when you SSH to your router's IP, it should forward that to the Linux system.
