How to setup MySQL and PHP servers in different partitions?
Hi everyone,
Here is what i did:
I logged in as root, and then installed php4 and mysql.
question:
Does it mean i have php and mysql servers in the same partition?
what i want to do:
Under windows platforms, we can install different softwares in different partitions, rite? hm... so now i'm wondering if there's way to install php and mysql differently in different partitions.
and How?
Does this make sense? Thanks guy, i'm a linux virgin... haha...
You haven't told us where you installed them or what your partitions are so there is know way for us to tell.
Can install software on whatever partitions you want. When compiling from source you usually just need to pass a "--prefix" option:
./configure --prefix=/path/to/mysql
./configure --prefix=/path/to/php
"You haven't told us where you installed them or what your partitions are so there is know way for us to tell."
i'm not the person who installed them, hm... i have them under the root directory, is that what you are asking? oh oh, haha, and i never install any thing in linux box, can anyone tell me how to install ? =X thanks
