How to set up forward SSL proxy

Hello everyone. I am attempting to set up a proxy that connects to the client using ssl, then connects to the server without ssl, providing a secure connection between the client and the proxy. I have tried using both squid and apache, but have been unable to get either to work. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Do you mean to ask "How can the clients connect to my proxy in a secure manner?" You are better off posting this on Squid group. Henrik always has some lovely suggestions.

If yes then, set up Squid on your server.

Now you can do two things:-

1) If the client is SSL aware then you need to configure stunnel on the server to listen on a port and forward it on to the proxy. Connect the client to stunnel port.

2) If the client is not SSL aware then set up a ssh tunnel from the client to the proxy. Ask the browser to connect to localhost.
