How to get a certificate for davfs2

Much to my surprise, I have davfs2 working with slackware 13.37. I've even managed to store my password and username so that I don't have to enter those every time. However, it still says:

issuer: etc.
identity: etc.
fingerprint: etc.

You only should accept this certificate if you can verify the fingerprint! The server might be faked or there might be a man-in-the-middle-attack.
Accept certificate for this session?

Apparently, you can place a certificate in /etc/davfs2/certs/

But how do you get or make a certificate?
