How to connect a notebook (win2000) via USB to RH7.2 machine ?

Hello there,

I have a desktop machine on which I am running Red Hat 7.2, is it possible to connect to this RH machine to my notebook (running on win2000) via USB to transfer files between two PCs ?

and if it is possible, is it possible to install a proxy server on Rh7.2 machine which can be used to access internet on notebook via this USB connection ? if possible, please specify the proxyserver name which I can download).

Thanks !

Best regards,
Salman Zafar

No answers could mean either, but it helps to have done some research yourself, so that you don't ask easy ones unnecessarily.
I don't think you can connect the machines via USB. What you need is ethernet networking. There are millions of howtos out there, and a search on this site will tell you a lot. As to internet sharing, Linux has routing built in, so you don't specifically need a proxy.
Try www.google.com/linux for a good start.
