how to alter the workgroup name on linux

hi all
i have 3 machines at the moment wired up through linksys router
the win xp machine win me machine and linux
the winxp can see the me the me can see both but the thing thats causing me problems is the workgroup both the windows machines are on a workgroup called ace and the linux says its on workgroup

how can i alter the workgroup on linux to ace then hopefully all machiens will be able to see each other ?

You have to configure Samba.. See samba documentation for how to do this. Note that most distro's have their very own special front end to Samba configuration as well, which you should either use or disable.

There's something called SWAT aswell that enabled you to configure your Samba stuff through a standard browser. It's really quite good because it gives you a nice interface to use, and with only a couple of clicks it gives you the relevant docs.
