how do I renew a dhcp client lease?

Under Win98, I was able to run winipcfg,
and click on renew-all to have the system
contact the dhcp server and re-establish
the dhcp client leases.

How do I do this under Linux (specifically suse 9.2)?

Thanks

Just run "dhclient" - if you have more than one card then you can choose with "dhclient eth0".

Thanks for you reply.

The program, dhclient, doesn't appear on my system, and this
led me to some further investigation.

Here's what I think I have learned.

There are two packages available, dhclient, and dhcpcd. Suse 9.2
installs dhcpcd.

Fortunately, suse provides some shell-script front ends,
ifup-dhcp and ifdown-dhcp. These scripts figure out which
package is installed and then issue the proper command, with
the proper arguments for the package installed.

So I run:
ifdown-dhcp ath0
ifup-dhcp ath0

Anyway, thank you, David, for pointing me in the right direction.
