How do I create a windows hosted file sharing that can share files with suse 10.0??
basically, i have my windows pc servering the internet to my linux box using ICS(i couldnt install my dsl modem on linux cos i'm noob).
however, i would like to set up a network that will allow me to transfer files between the 2 computers easilly, like through a shared folder or something, but i need to keep the internet connectiong running from my windows pc to my linux box.
any help would be much appreciated, i have a windows xp machine and a suse 10.0 machine if that helps at all...thanks

There two options. First, you can use Samba on Suse box to publish a network file share that you can connect to on your Windows box. (See the Samba HOWTO details on configuring Samba.) Second, you can download Unix Services for Windows 3.0 from Microsoft (this is now a free download) and install it on your XP machine to publish an NFS share to your Suse box. If you don't need to transfer files alot, you could also use WinSCP on your Windows box to move files back and forth from your Linux box over SSH.
i actually just found a program in suse called KNetAttach, i took a quick look at it, and it seemed that it can connect to windows network drives, so i'm guessing that if i set up a network shared folder on the windows pc, then it can connect to it when i add the ip and all that, but would this mess with the internet connection?
