thanks i managed to add users

but i cant delete them using userdel -r <username>
i get this error
userdel: unknown user <username>

userdel <username>

and did u create the required home directory while creating the users???

have a look at the man page of useradd

meanwhile

useradd test -d /home/test -p gaurav -s /bin/bash -G gaurav
