Hiding samba server?

I have setup some hidden samba shares in my lab but I also need to hide the samba server like I do with windows using "net config server /hidden:yes" so the user cannot see the server icon in network neighborhood or nautilus smb:///.
Has anyone done this before?

The samba documentation is fairly comprehensive.

As a bodge, you could try not running nmbd and accessing the samba shares by ip address eg //12.334.56.78/name_of_share
