Smile networking linux and windows

Hi,
i want to access my linux(fc1) console from another system which is running on windows xp,cmd. (They all are in one network)
But,
1) nothing should be installed in windows system.
2) any thing can be installed in linux running system.

Is there any possibility to run specific program from my linux server to windows.

You could use Telnet from the Windows machine to the Linux one. I would generally not suggest the use of Telnet for...anything, but since Microsoft has still not included an SSH client in their operating system after all these years, that is all you can do without installing anything on the Windows client.

You can use MS-DOS command telnet, ftp, and/or IE browser on your Windows box just as long as your Linux box has the telnet, ftp, and/or Apache web server(s) running. NOTE: telnet is an unsecure protocol. You could also use Samba running on the Linux box to share out folders/files. There' probably others I'm missing. If you don't know anything about how to setup these Linux services, I recommend you do a Google search for them. Your distro your running probably has some information on their website.

Hi.

PuTTY can connect to the Linux box, and doesn't require installation as such. You just need putty.exe to be on the system (on a USB drive, or a CD, in My Documents...). You don't need admin rights to install it.

That's true. While we are at it, there are even Java-based SSH clients that you could run in IE and point to the machine on the local network. I have done that in the past when I didn't have access to PuTTY.
