Help setting up bridge

I have a problem when I set up my bridge.

I add the brctl, add my two ethernet cards, and then do ipconfig br0 up

But when I do that, it disconnects the machine but connects the one connected to that machine.

How do I fix it so that both will be able to access the net?

And then how do I make it enabled every time I boot up?
