i have already donte this script

// #!/bin/bas

// ifconfig eth0 inet xx.xx.x.xxx netmask 255.255.255.0 up

Hello and welcome to LQ,

What distro are you using, what commands did you run and what is the output of those. What error do you get when running the script? Those are a few things that make us understand the problem a lot faster.

First of all, the first line in your script looks pretty strange to me. Did you copy/paste it? Or are they tipos?

Code:
#!/bim/bas
should be
Code:
#!/bin/bash
Do you have any experience with scripting? If not have a look at this Bash Guide for Beginners.

Kind regards,

Eric
