Exclamation Help, Am I getting the right thing?

Ok, so I'm networking 2 pc's, I have:

2X 3com 905 PCI's installed,
Berklin 4 port router

,and now I've been looking for a modem to connect
the router up.

The one with the best price I have seen is a

D-Link ADSL Ethernet Modem...

is this the right type of modem I should be looking for to connect to my router. I have a usb modem, but it doesnt have the right connections for the router.

Also, I need alot of network cable. Can anyone recommend where online (in the uk) I can get hold of it as cheaply as possible? and what type will I be needin?

Thanks

a usb modem can only connect directly to your pc. you need an ethernet modem so you can daisy chain your router off it and use NAT to enable multiple users on your LAN access, while only leasing one ip address from your isp. Usually there is an uplink port on most routers.

Also, with most DSL and Cable companies, they only support certain modems and OEMs. I would check with your ISP for compatible modems to make sure you wont have any provisioning problems.
