half-open tcp connections
Dear forum,
I have a question related to half-open tcp connections.
Assume the following:
1. Create a tcp connection
ip1:port1 (client side) <-> ip2:port2 (server side).
2. Remove ethernet cable from client. Reboot the client.
3. Try to create a new tcp connetion from
ip1:port1 (client side) <-> ip2:port2 (server side), i.e.
identical to first connection. This connection shall be carried out
in the same way the first one.
CLIENT SERVER
SYN ->
<- SYN ACK
ACK ->
Assuming that this connection is established, is it legal, can it be used for transmission?
I have read some about tcp in TCP/IP illustrated, Volume 1, W. R. Stevens.
