Get Segmentation Fault if as root


somtime I get segmentation fault when i running program for billing client (network program) when using su or sudo, what the matters ???

Did the segfaults occur recently or has it always been a problem? Does the application log information you could look at? Can the application be run in verbose or debug mode to log information? Is it a proprietary or an Open Source application (name?)? If it is Open Source, does it have a website, bug tracker or mailing list you can ask for support at? Any other information welcome.
