Get Rtorrent to use a VPN interface, everything else via eth0

Could you please help me with linux set up.

so I need to send and receive all traffic originating from ppp0 (rtorrent) to the internet but all other traffic via eth0

I seem to have successfully connected to VPN via pptp and have my interface ppp0 assigned ip

eth0 -

System's default gateway is
should I add a default gateway for my ppp0?

ip route returns:

[root@pdc iproute2]# ip route dev ppp0 proto kernel scope link src dev eth0 proto kernel scope link src dev eth0 scope link
default via dev eth0

Sorry I am not an expert so could you pleas help.
