Force update of dns cache?

My linux box is set up as a simple dns server. I don't remember the details when I set it up, I just went through a quick tutorial.

I have a website i'm trying to reach that I can't. I'm fairly sure it's because my server has the domain cached and the server changed IPs. What can I do to force it to update that value, or clear it or something?

-Well if you are running bind then you could always restart the service as the dns cache on bind is stored in memory.

-If you are running windows 2k or XP it would be a simple ipconfig /flushdns

-you may also want to try quering the server using dig and determine if thats the case.

-People and DNS changes, Change your servers IP address and not updating the serial number ... UGGG!!!! no wonder people can't get to your server.

when using bind you can also use the rndc program (rndc flush); of course rndc needs to be properly configured...
