Firewire network eth1394 on Mandrake 10 KDE

Hi. I'm fairly new to Linux but not computers.

I need some help in setting up a firewirenetwork.

PC1: Win XP [has regular LAN with internet]

PC2: Linux @ Mandrake 10

I connected the two PCs via firewire and bridged the networks in Windows.

Can someone either guide me through setting up this firewire network or
at least point me to somewhere this guide is posted?

Which one of these pertains to my situation? There is no info on firewire networking necessarily.
Most of the info that i can find talk about Kernel 2.4.x having firewire support. Considering that I'm
using mandrake 10 (kernel 2.6.x right?)

this should be supported yes?

squishyx; when u find each section on the howto,s ,expand each subsection and scroll til info u need and take action up on it.
