Question finding the connected computers in lan


please provide me the details how can i find how many commupters are connected in the lan from linux machine.

You can use nmap for host discovery. There is no guarantee that all hosts will be found if they don't replay to the scan.

eg:
nmap -sP 192.168.1.1-254/24
