Finding out if your NIC is configured properly

When I run ifconfig -a it gives my wireless NIC's hardware address as 00:00:00:00:00:00. I take it that this means that my NIC is not configured correctly, right?

You might want to try

iwconfig

to see if your wireless nick is there, and what it has to say about it.
