Unhappy Fedora core release 2 Sendmail Configuration

Hi,

I just installed Fedora core release 2, and I am trying to make it as a mail server. I configured sendmail, as i do in Red Hat 9, but i cannot see ipop3, ipop2, imap files in /etc/xinetd.d/ directory, so i cannot received mails from other computers in my network.

So, Can anyone tell me how to configure Sendmail in Fedora core.

thnx
-Hari

Since you're using FC2, it comes with Dovecot for IMAP/POP3 access. Also, dovecot is NOT started as a service under xinetd, but rather through a standard redhat supplied init script.

Hi,

But we can also make dovecot to act as a pop server by adding the following lines

# Protocols we want to be serving:
# imap imaps pop3 pop3s
protocols = imap imaps pop3 pop3s

Cheers,
