Hello

My boyfriend's computer was completely wiped out by a person who put a complete delete program in the computer and I could not download Windows as the computer had no operating system.

It was suggested that I download Linux so I did after much confusion.

Now I would like to help him access the internet but I don't know how.

The DLink DWA130 was installed by a professional and they just left me a disk and the password information on my computer.

How the heck do I get it running on his computer?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Sus

It would appear that you need to use ndiswrapper and a windows driver which you can download from dlink website. If we knew which linux distro you are using I could find you tutorials.

BTW it would get your posts more attention to give them titles concerning your problem such as (dlink wireless modem issues) instead of extreme newbie which was alright for your intro thread.

One link says that Dlink has a linux driver on their website. There's also at least on thread here at LQ, so do a search here also.
