everytime restart the system for proxy ?

hey,

I am running a proxy in between client- server model .
Once after running the proxy ,if I exit and reopen..I am getting this messege..
" bind socket:error #98 (address already in use)
server socket failed - quitting"

then I have to restart my system ...

Is there any solution for this?

I supose you use squid proxy server and probably the problem is that the process is not stoping. How do yoy exit and reopen ? what linux r u using?
try killall squid
or killall -9 squid

I don't want everytime kill the process id and restart again...

In userlevel we are using setsockopt.. like any option in kernel ?
