eth -> wlan and vice versa issues

Hey all,

I have an issue, im running a ubuntu 10.04 laptop on my network and is using samba/winbind for ad integration. It is working great up until you pull the eth and switch over to wlan or plugs in the eth cable again. When that happens winbind hangs the machine more or less. What is was thinking was that i would like to monitor the network connections and whenever there is a change (wlan -> nothing, wlan -> eth, eth -> wlan and so on) it would restart the winbind deamon/service.

Any ideas on how to achieve this in the best fashion? All ideas or thought regarding this is helpful.

Thanks!

br,

Ravee

One question. Does your smb.conf have the interfaces for both devices configured?

Hey!

Thanks for replaying!

No i don't have them explicitly in the smb.conf file.
Do you mean just adding the line "interfaces = eth0 wlan0"?

EDIT: When reading a little on it i get the feeling that this is just security features. Never specified the interfaces there so i don't know though

br,

Ravee
