dynamic resolv.conf modification for dual I/F notebook?

Hi,

I have a notebook running Mandrake 10.1 Community and I regularly work from both home and from the office. When I connect my laptop at work, I use the lan interface (eth0) and the server there has its own DNS, DHCP, etc. so my resolv.conf is automatically configured.

When I connect at home, it's a static IP on a dlink acx111 based pcmcia card (wlan0) - wasn't that fun to setup .
However as it is a static setup, I have to manually edit the resolv.conf file to adjust the "nameserver" entry for dns to resolve.

I've tried using a DHCP setup at home, however none of my systems at home seem to be able to pick up an IP address off the dlink 624+ router (Linux or Windows)

I figure I could use a shell script that detects whether wlan0 is up and then modify/replace the resolv.conf file, however as I know @#$% about scripting, I guess that's out of the question, unless someone could show me a sample hint, hint.

Other than that, I'd really appreciate any ideas to automate the lan / wireless transition.

Thanks in advance.
