DVD burner over network

I was wonder if it was possible to access a dvd burner in a win xp box from my suse 9.1 box. What I'm trying to say is that i want to be able to burn dvd from my suse box (with k3b) to a DVD drive on a windows box. I can already access the drive (as a folder) via smb. Is it actually possible to use this as a device? Thanks

AFAIK it isn't possible. It might be possible to "write" (copy via smb to the share) the files to the burner but then they would be in a buffer and you then would need a remote access to the windows box to actually write them to disk.
