Question DNS Question?

Out of blatent and blind curiousity, is there any reasonable explanation as to why over a matter of 7 hours, a DNS server on my network would just upchuck and die, not allowing me to use it anymore as well as not allowing me to access the samba shares on it? Last night the server was working beautifully and now today it just upchucked on me. Any suggestions as to why the DNS/BIND would mess up so badly would be greatly appreciated... I'm just hunting for an answer at the moment...

Unexpected propblems like that points to hardware failures. Check the output of "dmesg" also look at /var/log/messages and any other logs you have relating to services run on htat server.
