DNS configuration ...


Dear All,

Anyone pls help me out from the following scenario.

I have configured DNS in my Red hat enterprise linux.
Now i can ping my dns that it (test.com)from local machine as well as from windows xp machine.

But when i nslookup linux dns (test.com) from windows machine it shows an error.

Might help if you actually TOLD US what the error was. And since it works from everywhere but Windows XP, it's probably a Windows related issue, and you'd get more help from a Microsoft forum, than Linux.

Since you don't give any details about what you've tried, have you rebooted/power-cycled the XP machine? It may not have flushed the DNS entries, and is running from old information.

Did you go to a command prompt on the XP box and do:

 > ipconfig /flushdns
>ipconfig /registerdns
