Unhappy DHCP server

Hi!

Does anybody know what the easiest way is to run a DHCP server on a Linux machine (RH90) and which sw can be used.

Have not found it in my RH - does it come with the default installation or do you have a suggestion where I can download it?

Thanks a lot

you can get the dhcp rpm for red hat 9 here (it should also be on your cds):

ftp://mirrors.kernel.org/redhat/redh...l1-23.i386.rpm

here's a little tuorial i found for you, you can find more by searching http://www.google.com/linux

http://www.troubleshooters.com/linux/dhcp.htm

basically, the configuration is done with file /etc/dhcpd.conf, and on most distros you need to create this file yourself...

there's plenty of examples of actual working dhcpd.conf files floating all over the web...

if you want, you can ask for an example on this forum...

Thanks!

Looks like the dhcp was in my distro - however it needs to be configured. Will check the urls that you send and see if I can get it working

Maybe I will get back with some other questions ;-))
