Question dhcp double running problem

Hi there,

I'm using Asus Wireless Ehernet card in order to connect to the internet on SuSE SLED 10. I have configured my interface via ifconfig and iwconfig.

(rausb0 is my interface's name)
When I type
Code:
Code:
ifup rausb0
the dhcpcd process does not stop after assigning the IP address.
Then when I type
Code:

Code:
dhclient rausb0
it says "Can't bind to dhcp address: Address already in use".
When I kill the process of /sbin/dhcpcd the dhclient command runs successfully and I can ping the websites.

How can I make it running without killing the dhcpcd process by hand and doing it automatically for me?

Kind Regards,

If it is similar to openSuSE, then I think that SuSE is configuring the device from the /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg--rausb0 file, and you are doing the same using ifconfig and iwconfig.
Couldn't you configure the device in YaST?

I had configured /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-rausb0 as;
DEVICE=rausb0
ONBOOT=yes
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
TYPE=Wireless
ESSID="arda"
MODE=Managed

I have also configured it from YaST, but I'm not using the Network Manager and shouldn't I use ifup and dhclient utilities from terminal in order to connect to my access point?

Moreover, I'm getting userName@3(NXDOMAIN) in gnome-terminal windows that I open. What does this mean, is it related with my dhcp?

Thanks,
