Creating FAT32 partition and can only mount read only??

Hi All,

I'm creating a FAT32 partition with my very nice knoppix boot CD but can't seem to mount it RW?

I use parted to create the partition with the following command:

parted -s /dev/hda mkpart primary FAT32 1 8000

I then run the following commands to set up my mount point:

cd /
cd UNIONFS/mnt
mkdir FAT32
chown knoppix FAT32
chmod 755 FAT32

I then try to mount as RW using the following command:

mount -0 rw, /dev/hda1 /UNIONFS/mnt/FAT32

but something goes wrong and I can't write or change permissions or ownership.

Any clues??

Cheers

J

Try adding "umask=0" to your mounting options.
